Meliora Oxygen Brightener Bleach Alternative Booster Review 2023 | Plastic-Free Laundry Detergent
We did many loads of laundry with Meliora’s Bleach Alternative — here is our review.
The Top Line
BUY. Run, don’t walk. Meliora’s Bleach Alternative, which is color safe, is a buy. We love that it’s unscented: clothes come out just smelling clean. The ingredients are limited and Leaping Bunny Certified. Packaging is recyclable and the formulation is super concentrated. The only pitfall for some might be that it’s a powder and not a convenient pod/sheet/tablet — but we don’t mind.

The Experience
Review: Prior to going even greener, we have used the normal Seventh Generation (powder and liquid), Tide, and Method for all of our clothes. For stains, we had been using OxiClean’s stain remover here and there. We have washed all kinds of clothes and items with Meliora’s Oxygen Brighter Bleach Alternative and here is our experience:
Scent free!! We love that
Clothes come out smelling so clean but totally unscented
There is no residue or film left anywhere
We don’t mind using powder since you only need to use a small amount
Clothes do seem like they come out a bit brighter, especially our sheets and towels
The Cost
Price Comparison: We assumed that the average household of 4 will generate 7 loads of laundry per week or 365 loads per year! We will compare Meliora’s Bleach Alternative to a other detergents, including OxiClean, Grab Green , Clean People, Blueland, and Dropps Oxi Booster. We also included the original Dropps and Tide PureClean.
Money Report: So….. Meliora’s Bleach Alternative blows the competition out of the water. The oxygen brightener laundry powder is the cheapest option that we’ve tried!
