Mar 31 Nellie's Dishwasher Powder Review 2021 | Simple, Natural Dishwasher Powder

Maybe… if you want the cute retro looking tin. We think Nellie’s dishwasher powder works just fine as far as cleaning goes. We like that it’s Leaping Bunny Certified, phosphate free, hypoallergenic, and only uses a little bit of plastic for packaging. Unfortunately, there are 100% plastic-free options available and other dishwasher detergents at a MUCH lower cost.

If unbleached is an important feature (it makes it even more green and sustainable), then Package Free Bamboo toilet paper is a BUY. The one drawback of this toilet paper is that it’s middle of the range when it comes to price. The Cheeky Panda’s bamboo toilet paper is the most cost effective option we have tried so far — and we have tried many (read all about it in our Big Bamboo Toilet Paper Roundup Review) , but the size of roll leaves a bit to be desired. As with most bamboo toilet paper options, it’s also not the softest — but if you want bamboo TP at a great price, The Cheeky Panda is a solid option!

While we were excited to try bamboo paper towels, we can’t recommend The Cheeky Panda’s kitchen rolls. They are too pricey for a product that is significantly worse — we will stick with our reusable swedish dishcloths and recycled paper towels for now.

Pubic Goods has incredibly clean packaging and an admirable mission of making sustainable and earth friendly products available on one site. Unfortunately, we barely break even when considering the cost of membership against the products we tried and would actually continue to order.

We have been trying to use Public Goods Bamboo and Sugarcane Tissues for three months and we just can’t seem to get rid of them. It costs only $2-3 per year to be green here but we do not think the cost is worth it since all these tissues do is scratch our face (sad face).

A firm no from us. Even though Public Goods liners are made of more sustainable bamboo over cotton, they are not user-friendly, feel stiffer than traditional liners and are way more expensive.

We’ve tried a lot of sustainable bamboo toilet papers this year — read all about it in our Big Bamboo Toilet Paper Roundup Review, and No. 2 came ahead as one of the softer (Silk ‘n Soft still the softest!) and cost effective bamboo TP options. BUT, No. 2 is one of the smallest rolls we tried! We also wish it was a bit softer, and not bleached.

We think Public Goods Tree Free paper towels made from sugarcane and bamboo is not really a buy. The upgrade over recycled paper towels is that they don’t shred— but you still get the poke through.
